I have been to Japan, and when I went there, they had these amazing (never-heard-of) “Denshi Jisho”, electronic dictionaries. They would translate words and phrases between Japanese and English. With over 200,000 words and 23,000 useful phrases, it’ll translate to, from, and inbetween German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portugese, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and English. This is a must have if you’re interested in any of these languages, even if you’re considered “fluent”, because so many of the words and phrases have great explanations of what they mean and why.
